"But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves. Many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned; and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep." 2 Peter 2:1-3

"False Teachers" are well known religious leaders who plague the modern church with their unbiblical teachings and/or lives of gross hypocrisy. Their primary motives are sex and monetary gain (1 Timothy 6; 2 Timothy 3; 2 Peter 2). This page is meant to help sincere Christians avoid the deception promoted by these "wolves in sheep's clothing" (Matthew 7:15). The heretical teaching, or wicked behavior, of such individuals are easily accessible all over the internet. Some "False Teachers" may be absent from the list because their followers have disappeared from the face of the earth (e.g., Jim Jones, and David Koresh).
